Have you ever wondered just how much a bottle of wine could be sold for? Or perhaps even; where in the world produces the most expensive wines? One thing’s for sure is that you won’t find them at your local supermarket wherever you are in the world but rather on auction managed by auction houses.  In 2010 a bottle of 1947 French Cheval-Blanc became recognised as the most expensive bottle of wine sold in history at $304,375. The 67 year old bottle was sold to a private collector at a Christies auction in Switzerland. However in recent years the Burgundy producer “Domaine Romanée-Conti known to collectors as “DRC” has been well-known to frequently demand the highest prices in the world with the average price for a bottle at: $19,702 and their maximum price is at $551,314. Another expensive wine can be from Domaine Leflaive however some bottles can still be found for less than $75, whereas wines from their 12 acres of grand cru vineyards go for much more with their maximum selling price reaching almost: $15,242.
